Subject: Jim Davidson Birthday Party
The gathering was great. We reserved the Marysville Church and set it up for different activities like "Who in the family ....(rides an atv, flies airplanes, etc)". We did fly casting competitions and memory lane types of things. You will see by the commentaries what we talked and laughed about. Everyone brought memorabilia which covered 3 long tables, including service records, a gun, photos, and things reminiscent of Jim's lifetime. There were many genealogy records. Diane May, Kim Hull (Mike's sister), Mike Davidson, Paula, and us brought a lot of stuff like that, including letters. It was a lighthearted celebration of a fine man's way-too-short life and the love people still feel for him. The kids came to know the man they never (excepting Kathy, of course,) got to know, and that alone made the day priceless. We also had a little silent auction to raise some money for Diane Davidson who was so badly hurt in the car accident only weeks before. You would have enjoyed being there.
